If the signal line voltage returns to between 0.3 volts and 4.75 volts, the fault becomes inactive.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Reparations_possibles\"><\/span>Possible repairs:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Start by turning off the ignition key.<\/p>\n<p>1) Disconnect the EMS A and B module connectors. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor connector. Check for continuity between pin 2 of the oil pressure sensor harness connector (signal line) and a good ground. Also check continuity between EMS module connector B pin 11 and all other pins of EMS module connectors A and B. If there is continuity, locate and repair the short.<br \/>2) Disconnect connector B from the EMS module. Check continuity between oil pressure sensor harness connector pin 1 (reference voltage line) and EMS module connector B pin 17. If there is no continuity, repair the harness reference voltage line open.<br \/>3) Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Disconnect the connectors from the EMS module. Check continuity between EMS module connector B pin 11 (signal line) and all other pins of EMS module connectors A and B. If there is continuity or visual short circuit, repair the signal line short circuit. If there is no continuity or visual short, replace the EMS module.<br \/>4) Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Disconnect connector B from the EMS module. Check continuity between pin 2 of the oil pressure sensor harness connector (signal line) and pin 11 of connector B of the EMS module.<br \/>If there is no continuity, repair the harness signal line open.<br \/>5) Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Disconnect connectors A and B from the EMS module. Check continuity between pin 17 of the oil pressure sensor harness connector (reference voltage line) and all other pins of connectors A and B of the EMS module. If there is continuity or a visual short, repair the reference voltage line short. If there is no continuity or visual short, replace the EMS module.<br \/>6) Disconnect connectors A and B from the EMS module. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Check continuity between EMS module harness connector pin 17 (reference voltage line) and all other pins of EMS module connectors A and B. Visually check for a short circuit on pin 17 of connector B of the EMS module. If there is continuity or a visual short, repair the reference voltage line short. If there is no continuity or visual short, replace the EMS module.<br \/>7) Disconnect connectors A and B from the EMS module. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor. Check continuity between EMS module harness connector pin 18 (ground line) and all other pins of EMS module connectors A and B (see Figure 59). If there is continuity or a visual short, repair the return line short. If there is no continuity or visual short, replace the EMS module.<br \/>8) Visually inspect both sides of EMS module connector B pin 11 for a serviceable interruption in the signal line. If a serviceable interruption is detected, repair or replace the EMS module harness connector.<br \/>9) Visually inspect both sides of the oil pressure sensor connector for a serviceable interruption. If there is a repairable defect or one of the pins is loose, repair or replace the connector.<br \/>10) Remove the oil pressure sensor from the oil filter assembly. Connect the oil pressure sensor to a regulated air source with an accurate pressure gauge. Connect a jumper wire between pin 1 of the oil pressure sensor and pin 1 of the sensor harness connector. Connect a jumper wire between pin 4 of the oil pressure sensor and a good ground. Turn on the ignition key. Measure the voltage between pin 2 of the oil pressure sensor and a good ground at various pressures between 0 psi and 101.5 psi. If the oil pressure sensor output is correct over the entire pressure range, reinstall the sensor and replace the EMS module.
